چکیده

One of the fundamental geophysical observations made of the Earth is the stratified nature of the continental crust, in which the lower crust comprises denser, more mafic material and the upper crust comprises less dense, more felsic material. This chemically differentiated layered structure is developed and maintained by partial melting at depth and the ascent of magma to shallower crustal levels. In this paper, we are concerned with the movement of melt in the deep crust while it was in a partially molten state. Information to address this issue is potentially available from anatectic migmatites, which Topology of syntectonic melt-flow networks in the deep crust: Inferences from threedimensional images of leucosome geometry in migmatites

The spatial and temporal patterning of the deep crust and implications for the process of melt extraction.

Volumetrically significant melt production requires crustal temperatures above approximately 800 °C. At the grain scale, the former presence of melt may be inferred based on various microstructures, particularly pseudomorphs of melt pores and grain-boundary melt films. In residual migmatites and granulites, evidence of melt-extraction pathways at outcrop scale is recorded by crystallized produc...

Investigation of melt distribution reactions, thermobarometry and minerals chemistry of amphibols and plagioclase leucosome, melanosome and mesosome in Takab Hornblend bearing migmatites, northwestern Iran

The process of migmatitization in the Ghareh Naz has resulted in the formation of various rate of partial melting and eventually the formation of a large spectrum of metatexite and diatexite migmatites. Mineral chemistry studies by EPMA method shows that amphibole composition is magnesio-hastingsite and has a metamorphic origin and feldspar composition is andesine to oligoclase. Effective react...

Nature of the Archean midcrust in the core of the Vredefort Dome, Central Kaapvaal Craton, South Africa

Extreme uplift associated with the formation of the 2.02 Ga Vredefort dome has exposed a substantial cross section through the crystalline early Archean basement complex rocks of the Kaapvaal craton. The rocks comprise polydeformed high-grade tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite (TTG) gneisses, migmatites and late-tectonic intrusive granitoids that straddle the upper amphibolite-to granulite–faci...

بررسی سنگ‌نگاری پاراگنیس‌های شمال شرق گلپایگان: میگماتیتی شدن و شواهد دگرگونی پسرونده

The studied area, as Ykeh-Chah unit, is a part of Golpayegan magmatic and metamorphic complex in Sanandaj-Sirjan structural zone. The unit consists of mylonitized and high- grade metamorphic rocks, including biotite-gneiss, biotite-garnet-gneiss, amphibolite and orthogneiss. The biotite gneiss and the biotite garnet gneiss have partly been migmatitized. They show various structures such as stro...

Three-dimensional numerical simulation of temperature and flow fields in a Czochralski growth of germanium

For a Czochralski growth of Ge crystal, thermal fields have been analysed numerically using the three-dimensional finite volume method (FLUENT package). The arrangement used in a real Czochralski crystal growth lab included a graphite crucible, heat shield, heating device, thermal insulation and chamber including two gas outlets. We have considered two cases for calculations, which are configur...
